Four years have slipped by since we left Wildflowers for good.
Our website has lain dormant.
Yet silence does not mean that there is no activity. Although darkness may settle upon the landscape and still quietness engulfs the world, the darkness and silence does not mean that there are no happenings. The world goes on.
The tree keeps growing and, as it does, it makes no noise. In secrecy the roots break through hard ground and solid rock to find water and nutrients. The branches silently shoot out leaves to catch sunlight.
So it has been with Out There Family. So much has happened, we have had no end of adventures and unusual experiences.
More significantly so much has happened to us. In the silence, much about us, (as individuals, as parents, as a couple and as a family) has been brought to the surface, laid bare and changed.
Four years is a long time. Writing now, and as I look back, it was a tumultuous time so much upheaval in our marriage and home. There was a great deal of pain and, happily, an enormous amount of growth.
On our home page welcome, written nine years ago, we wrote;
‘……We had something like a plan, yet life has taken some unexpected twists and turns…I wonder what the future will bring? Why don’t you join us and see?’
Certainly unexpected twists and turns aplenty and a future one could not have imagined. That last four years have seemed, so often, like chaos, like being thrown off your body board and tumbled in the surf and sand.
What happens inside a chrysalis has been described as a state of chaos yet out of it comes a beautiful butterfly. You cannot see inside the chrysalis, all is hidden from the eye but the end result is something of great beauty. That is how we like to see the end result of our four years of chaos….something beautiful has emerged.
